Last leg for today, München Hbf to Augsburg with an ICE. No seat reservation required, so fully included in my interrail pass.
But I didn't get the dress code! Many clothed in dirndl and lederhosen at the station and on the train. Is oktoberfest officially started?
Anyway, next and today's final stop: Augsburg.

The joys of booking European train tickets: travel from Delft to Rzeszow edition.
- Look up tickets on bahn.de: well 23h of uninterrupted trains seems excessive, how about we make a stop in Berlin?
- Actually I heard there’s a sleeper train to Berlin, let’s check it out!
- Oh the only place I can book it is in europeansleeper.eu, fine I guess.
- Sleeper train only goes on specific days of the week. Well there’s one on Friday, then we can stay one day+night in Berlin before continuing to Rzeszow, perfect!
- For the way back there’s a sleeper on Sunday night, that works as well.
- Great, I have tickets for the sleeper, now let’s get the tickets from Berlin to Rzeszow!

- Ok so I need to book the tickets on intercity.pl instead of polishtrains.eu? Of course, silly me.
- Well this website is not very well translated, but I’ll manage.
- I cannot buy a return ticket but need to buy two separate tickets, how annoying.

Mit einem #Frecciarossa sind wir gut in #Bologna 🇮🇹 angekommen. Die Stadt besticht durch mittelalterliche Arkadengänge, lebendige Kultur und eine weltberühmte Küche. Ein schöner Ort! 👍 Hier gibt es sogar Fahrradinfrastruktur & die Autodominanz ist nicht so extrem wie in Rom. #EuropeByRail #Eisenbahn

Mit #EuropeByRail haben wir (den Golf von) #Patras erreicht. #Griechenland 🇬🇷 ist einfach beeindruckend - kein #Schickimicki, sondern einfach sympathisch! Fotospots an jeder Ecke, die Cafés ein Träumchen & eine schöne Burg. Für den jammernden #Merz gibt es sogar deutsches Brot. 😆 Auf nach #Bologna! 🇮🇹

Von Rom aus ging es mit einem #Frecciarossa nach #Bari. Im Fahrplan sind vermutlich 20-30 Pufferminuten eingeplant. ⏱️ Und bei einem Espresso ☕️ kann man die wunderschöne Landschaft genießen. 👍 Dazu ein paar Eindrücke der Hafenstadt Bari. Nun geht es über die Adria nach #Griechenland. #EuropeByRail

I'm sure you know, @jon, maybe wrote about it already, but things seem to be moving in the right direction from Oslo towards Europe this summer.
Snälltåget will have a direct Oslo->Malmö (not calling at Göteborg), departure 14:49 and arriving on time for boarding their 21:25 night-train towards Hamburg and Berlin. From mid June.
It means one can leave Oslo mid afternoon and arrive in London (via Hamburg and Bruxelles) late afternoon the day after.
I'm curious about passenger rights in case of hick-ups around Malmö. Apparently one buys a single ticket from Snälltåget from Oslo to Hamburg (or Berlin). Only 30min margin in Malmö 😅. Might give this a try this summer.
I havn't checked the other way around yet.

#Grün wirkt auch in #Ungarn. Im nächsten Jahr geht es mit #EuropeByRail nach #Budapest. Das wollte ich eigentlich nicht wegen #Orbán, aber der #Pride 2025 hat dann doch etwas an meiner Reiselust bewirkt. 🏳️🌈
