🪘 On #InternationalMusicDay, we share a clip from the performance the #KnowAfrica project organised for the #EuropeanResearchersNight.

This piece of music travels back in time and space: a score found among the papers of Capelo and Ivens, taking us back to their expedition to #Angola in 1877-1880. They listened to the African music, they wrote it down in European sheet music, Prof. Vasco Ramalho reinterpreted it and brought it back.

We recently collaborated with
Aquatic Bio-Technology to create a small, portable wind tunnel for #SciComm.

It allowed us to show kids (and adults!) the difference between laminar and turbulent airflow.

The young researchers and students on hand tonight in Trinity’s Zoological Museum were great mediators - energetic and informative.
