Learning foreign languages is one of my hobbies (which I tend to far to seldom, due to time restrictions, unfortunately).

But, #TIL that there is a 🇪🇺 European Day of Languages (which actually exists since 2001), and it's actually today. I also learned that I am one of 3 out of 5 Europeans who can speak a foreign language besides their native language. Furthermore, I actually know 5 out of the 24 official European languages which is actually a fifth of all European languages 🤯

Of course I don't speak all of them fluently (in fact it's only my native language (German) and English I feel really comfortable with). But non the less interesting to know and somewhat motivating to sharpen the other three, as well.

How many languages do my followers (or anyone stumbling upon this post) speak? How many would you like to speak? What was the last language you learned, or what is the language you are currently learning, or the next one you are planning to learn? And why not start today, at the "Day of Languages"?

Since today is the #EuropeanDayOfLanguages, let's not forget that you are not required to keep your languages separate, pure, intact or in any way feel inadequate about your way of using your own language/s. And don't let anyone take away your co-ownership of the languages you have.

Reclamem la evident oficialitat que deuria tindre com a llengua Europea, ja que es tracta de la 13 llengua més parlada en l'àmbit europeu, estan per davant d'altres llengües amb menys parlants però si reconegudes per la UE, com ho són el maltès, l'estonià, l'eslovè, el letó, i així fins a 12 llengües oficialitzades amb menys parlants.

Continuarem usant amb la evident normalitat que li pertoca a una llengua tan parlada com la nostra.
