Death In A Red Jaguar (1968), a German Jerry Cotton crime thriller. Jerry has to deal with a Murder Inc type gang. Fast-moving, suspenseful, action-packed, shot with flair. The opening sequence is peak 60s German pop cinema. Superb pulp movie.

Savage Three (Fango bollente, 1975), a nasty little movie combining poliziottesco and psycho killer movie elements. Superbly chilling performance by Joe Dallesandro combining evil and innocence. Great movie.

Jean-Pierre Melville’s Un Flic (1972), perhaps neonoir but more existentialist crime film. Alain Delon is a cop, there are two heists, but it's an art film, a coldly intellectual exercise in absurdism, existentialism, alienation and isolation.

Syndicate Sadists (1975) is a 1975 Umberto Lenzi poliziottesco that's really a lone wolf hero vigilante movie. Tomas Milian stars and he has a personal score to settle. There's a kidnapping. Not Lenzi's best but Milian's charisma caries it.

The Case of the Scorpion's Tale is a big budget #Giallo.

Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key is an adaptation of Poe's The Black Cat. I have seen so many versions of this I was not really looking forward to it but it ended up being my favorite version so far.

The Suspicious Death of a minor was a #Poliziotteschi #Gialli hybrid. EXCELLENT STUFF!

Sergio Sollima's Revolver, a 1973 entry in the Italian poliziotteschi genre, with Oliver Reed as a prison governor caught in a complex web of political/criminal intrigue.

The complex plot is heavily laced with paranoia, there’s plenty of action and it gets pretty violent.

A very dark, cynical pessimistic movie. Entertaining and engrossing. A must for Oliver Reed fans.

If you’re making a movie in the poliziotteschi genre could you come up with a better title than Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man? This 1976 movie was directed by Ruggero Deodato.

It's fast and furious, incredibly stylish and very entertaining.

The opening motorcycle chase is justly famous but it’s just one of the amazing action set-pieces. The quarry shoot-out is inspired.
