Looks like we'll have a contested vote for #Eurocon in 2030! Copenhagen vs Birmingham will be an interesting discussion and decision.

Eurocony towarzyszą fanowskiej społeczności od 1972 roku. Spotykamy się na nich co rok w innym europejskim kraju, przyznajemy nagrody dla najlepszych twórców i zasłużonych fanów, są też świetną okazją do przyjrzenia się lokalnemu fandomowi i specyfice fanowskiej kultury. W tym roku Eurocon odbył się na Wyspach Alandzkich, w przyszłym widzimy się w Berlinie. A ostatnim polskim Euroconem był Tricon zorganizowany w Cieszynie razem z fanami z Czech.

A veces me acuerdo que el germen de #Postfuturear comenzó con otro proyecto a inicios de 2010s, tras una exposición que comisarié. Y que es una lástima que la conferencia de cierre de ese proyecto la hice en la #Eurocon 2016. Fue del antiselecto grupo que no se grabaron -más aun es el único evento en el que tuve la ocurrencia por pagar para dar una charla, es que de verdad...

I was on a gaming panel at #Eurocon and an audience member asked if any of the panel ever used AI. I answered first, but we all said "no", specifically I said that both I didn't need an LLM to write (and I accept I am somewhat privileged in this), but also that I could not use a tool that had stolen from so many. That is the trump reason.

First flight home from #Eurocon went very well, albeit the luggage arrived at a different belt from advertised, but not in any hurry anywhere. Now off to spend a few hours in Stockholm before heading back to ARN.

Return journey from #Eurocon starts with a taxi journey to a tiny, mostly empty, airport. Check-in doesn't open until an hour before the flight in MHQ, so I'm a few minutes early, but chilling is good. And this flight to ARN will land before it takes off!

Fandom does contain multitudes. Today it has provided conversations about cozy fantasy, romantasy, maglev trains and finally a concert by a choir singing about Westeros, One Piece, Secret of Monkey Island and The Witcher.

My journey to #Eurocon #Archpelacon2 has started with some minor frustrations, but in a taxi now and looking forward to my flights and reading more Hugo nominees!

Midsummer nights in Ireland, when it's still light outside after 22:00... and it's only going to be better next week at #Eurocon! (I hate the heat, but for a little while every year, I *love* the long evenings.)

Thinking of going to #Eurocon on the Åland Isles in June. Don't know what the schedule is like. I actually only really enjoy being on stage, playing games and searching through the used book boxes at cons. Anybody else on Masto going?
