I recently rediscovered the british #scifi author John Brunner. I picked up "Web of everywhere" for 1€ at the Bücherrettung at #MetropolCon / #Eurocon. In my youth his 4 novels from his so called "Club of Rome Quartett" were my holy grail. The "Web ..." novel is rather short, but it delivers.
These books are from the 70s. But still relevant, maybe more than ever. So yes: John Brunner stays one of my all time heroes. -

Wracam z #eurocon2026 w Berlinie. Trzy tematy wracały uparcie, prawie na każdej prelekcji i panelu:
- Chiny, ich wpływ lub autopromocja w Europie (której tutaj też było sporo)
- ejaj, na wszystkie sposoby - od niezrozumienia tematu, przez awersję, przez wykorzystanie praktyczne do wstępnego przesiewania danych, po hurraoptymistyczne wizje (też oparte na niezrozumieniu tematu )
- Elon Musk i kolejne zepsute przez niego "collective commons"Konwent sci-fi i fantasy, ale jak widać niektóre tematy przesiąkają teraz każdą dziedzinę życia.

On our way back home from #MetropolCon #Eurocon. A bit early, but you know b/c reasons. We had a tremendous time. Besides all the great panels, the excellent organisation and welcoming atmosphere it were all the wonderful people we met, that made this a very special Week for us. You all stay being yourself. Yesterday at #MetropolCon #Eurocon James Bacon briefly talked about Batman choking an ICE agent. I looked it up and it seems to be a one shot in the Ultimate Batman 2025 Annual. I found a blog post about it here:
Just to make it very clear: I like the picture of Johnson, where Batman fights the ICE agent. Not the Dixon version.
