Is Islam Compatible with Modern Values?
When people ask whether Islam is compatible with modernity, they often assume Western liberalism as history’s endpoint. Islam does not exist to validate modernity. It exists to form an ethical life, challenge power, and expose the violence hidden inside “progress.” -

Holy fuck, today I'm totally tired of people, who live rich and well-fed lives in Europe/USA with full access to fruits of scientific/technological progress. Whose maximum collision with "state repression machine" was when they can't buy an alcohol without a passport.
They don't know anything about life in USSR/Russia. At least they don't read Robert Robinson "Black on Red: My 44 Years Inside The Soviet Union".
