@juergen_hubert Axel Springer's #EuroBILD thinks they shouldn't though, it would make Döpfner, Thiel and their other owners' lives so much easier. Which is why I find the fact that so much of the Bxl bubble rushes to give #PoliticoIsTrash scoops, subscription revenue and clicks so incomprehensible.

Or you could use DeepL or Reverso to translate #German media or wait for media you trust (which really shouldn't be Politico) to write about it in languages you do read. Matthias Döpfner's having a bad day today, don't help him wipe his tears with #EuroBILD ad revenue.

@iinavpov @ftworldnews Brit media owned by fash oligarchs has spillover effects for us as the EU is the only geopolitical space on the planet whose journalists and politicians happily outsource the EU public debate to foreign, often hostile, media (when they don't trip over themselves to give scoops to Döpfner's #EuroBILD the domestic version).The Torygraph not so much, though boomer anglo respecters like Ilves still take grifters like Viktor Orbán's CPAC intermittente du spectacle seriously.

@tymoty Bueno, menos Gotev que es su redactor jefe 🙈 pero sí, en comparación con el #EuroBILD de Axel Springer está bastante decente para periodismo sobre el día a día de la UE. La falta de "scoops" para Euractiv (porque la burbuja de Bruselas vive en una interdependencia tóxica con la cloaca de Politico, tienen prioridad) resulta en periodismo de mejor calidad.

@Furthering You can't colonise the willing... Particularly not the journalist/punditocracy bubble (entertainment empires aimed at "family content" are a different matter). I've talked before about how the EU being the only geopolitical space on the planet whose discourse about itself is driven by "foreign" media is toxic for its public debate.
Try to unhook the Brussels bubble from Politico, despite its tabloidisation, despite Springer turning it into #EuroBILD despite its financiers...

Tan de salida no está y tampoco le está perjudicando la guerra con el cuñado más divorciado de la Tierra, al contrario.Toda la burbuja de Bruselas, independientemente de su ideología, sabe quiénes son Mathias Döpfner y Peter Thiel y qué es Axel Springer y siguen dando cotilleos y acceso privilegiado a Politico Europe #EuroBILD, es el mismo tipo de relación tóxica. The French and German governments publishing their #EU reform proposals *exclusively* on Axel Springer's #EuroBILD no longer get to complain when Politico publishes yet more anti-European clickbait, often targeting France and any German government to the left of the CSU.

Since I refuse to click on Axel Springer's #EuroBILD I went looking for European echoes of the unfolding visa corruption scandal in #Poland
The most important elections in the country's modern history are scheduled in a bit over a month, but the bizarre 🇪🇺 journalistic disinterest in the numerous scandals surrounding #PiS continues. For straight reporting in English I found Notes from Poland (tho not on Mastodon) and AP, but the REAL fun is on TikTok. 1/2
