  1. Why does holding this 3D printed jig in place whilst I change PCB feel like I am doing a Vulcan mind meld?!

  2. So, yes, a "smiley" on the artwork.

But it has a purpose, really.

The printer does a photo align, and even with a simple jig it can mean an adjustment.

The camera aligns on highest point, all lower points are offset, annoyingly.

That inductor is highest point, so align the smiley and all else aligns.

Next step - getting eufyMake to handle fiducials to align prints.

  3. For some of my smaller run boards, an overprint like this could be really useful.

    [update, printed WAGOs as well]

JLC should offer this as an added service 🙂

Over printing the WAGOs, really is awesome...

  8. Synergy of technology.

Using the #3D printer to print a jig to hold parts that will be printed together on the #eufymake UV printer...

    Fun Saturday 🙂

Ooh, and using a jig is working, yay!

  9. FFS #eufymake
    Forgot to put paper down.

I wonder if I can get a new sticky top cover.

  10. LOL, I can't see links on web pages now.

The resulting UV print on a 19" rack milled aluminium front panel was awesome though... #eufymake

  11. @darkling Well, it is a #eufymake UV DTF Sticker, but sadly that will not "transfer" to skin, so cut out and with the B film still on top. That actually works pretty well.

If I did again I could be neater and better placed (a lot of room there!). I'll have to try "gold coloured".

  12. I can safely say that UV primer adhesive from Ali express was a total waste of time. One glass has some still stuck to it, the rest all cleaned off. #eufymake

  13. Meta, sticker on itself #eufymake

    #wales

OK, is this princess and the pea level, but is anyone else grating at this being like 1 or 2 degrees out of line?

  14. Arg! Fucking #AI

I asked #eufyMake why the height limit of 60mm, as clearly higher objects can fit.

    They could have said simply:

"The 60mm height limit is due to the focal length of the camera. If you print using zero point calibration, not camera, you can print objects up to 100mm"

That should be concise and clear.

    Instead I get this essay!

It is hard to put in to words, but this is unnecessarily long winded, repetitive, condescending, and basically sounds untrustworthy to me. I hate it.

And someone likes more fun stuff

  16. Anyone else do this?

[#eufymake feel like their replies are all heavily AI, and so hard to read, and disrespectful somehow]

  17. Big #eufymake jobs now.
I sorted some more desk space.

  18. I have no words...

This is #eufymake print on glass before and after dishwasher. This time using a blowtorch to make it stick.

Spoiler: It did not stick... Well, it sort of stayed stuck, but, well, yeh...

    #stargate

  19. Another dishwasher vs #eufyMake test underway today...

    Why are dishwashers so slow?
    #stargate

  20. FFS #eufymake

First etch worked, but looked like it needed more time. Second, with 20 minutes, allowed etch to creep under the ink. these glasses are only £10 each!!!

    Arg!

  21. I had to write the date on a small sample container (anyone my age will know 🙂).

I could use a pen, but it is a small area and my hand writing is crap at the best of times.

Is it wrong to use a £2k UV cured ink jet printer to print it in OCR-B in the exact space?

    #eufymake #gettingold

  22. OK #eufyMake solution to these glasses.

Print a stencil and etch. First attempt - proof of concept, they will work. Needs etching longer.

Importantly no sign of etching where the printing was, so simply "longer" should definitely work.

This is using single layer CMKY print, and glass etching cream from Amazon.

[Rab is a regular at the pub who appreciates having his own glass]

  23. Hmm #eufyMake still trying glass.

How it started, how it is going. The flags was trying an etching primer. The other glass was trying different combinations of white, colour, and gloss.

  24. I still need to finish tests on glass, and will update.

But my initial review on the #eufyMake UV Printer E1 is now published.

  25. More #eufyMake

Two things printed. Both could be scraped off with a fingernail. One metal, one plastic.

So both now sprayed with acrylic.

Oddly metal all "bobbled" up, and then went down as it dried. Plastic one did not.

The issue is (you can see bottom right of QR) the acrylic and print can still be scraped off with a fingernail.

Anyone know of a clear cover spray, perhaps even UV cured, that is solid and not easily removed like this?

  26. I am planning a blog on the #eufymake UV.
I have two videos, and plan a third.

    A lot of lessons learned.
Limitations learned, and some are a shame.
    Some tricks learned...

    Watch this space.

  27. With some effort I was able to scrape off the previous print, which is good in a way, but also a shame not more stuck. It did need a sharp edge though.

    New print much better. #eufymake

Note that the Earth #stargate address never made sense with the ᐰ at the end as you would just get a busy signal (!) dialling from ᐰ. So I decided to replace that.

  28. More #eufyMake microscope. This time "high quality" mode (how can I make that the default?).

    mm scale on right.

  29. It occurred to me, the #eufyMake uses 6 inks.

    CMYK, White, and Gloss.

Next step would be to add two more..

    1. Adhesive - an ink specifically to adhere, like cyanoacrylate or something (make something saner to use in an ink jet). As an initial layer. No that was not my patent idea, but it should have been, too late now.
    2. A metalic ink (essentially "silver") to use as a base under or mixed with yellow (for "gold"), etc.

  30. Not too bad #eufyMake

OK, I am new to this.

    1. I trusted eufyMake idea of centre, and was wrong. It did not look right, and I should have trusted my eyes.
    2. I should have gone for white text.
    3. In hindsight a thicker white may have been in order.

But it is well stuck down, and does look pretty good none the less. It coped with the textured surface with no problem at all.

    #stargate

  31. #eufyMake under microscope.

Printed on an ESP32S3 can (14mm wide).

Yes, iPhone camera has no problem.

  32. #eufyMake

OK one more test - printing on the key fobs scrapes off with a finger nail.

I tested 10 minutes of extra UV curing.

    No help.

    (thanks @neil for suggestion though).

    More tests to follow.

  33. #eufyMake compare
    White->CMYK->Gloss
    CMYK->Gloss
    Good test
    #eeyore

What was fun was I was able to over print the wrong one, and position and size, even 4.5 degree rotate to align, and I cannot see the join or even tell which side I had to over print now. Very cool.

  39. SO SAD, that this machine is that pricey!
However, when #FauxHammer say it's good, then IT IS GOOD! And btw, he said "It's brilliant!" 😃
