  1. Rights matter most the moment someone realizes:

    this applies to me.

Not just in courtrooms or politics.
In school, at work, online, in everyday life.

This final episode is about that shift — when rights stop feeling abstract and start becoming personal, usable, and real.

Because the Charter matters most when we know it is ours.

  6. British people applying for second nationalities to get their EU Citizenship back.

“Brexit was a major reason: data from Eurostat shows more than 100,000 British people acquired EU citizenship between 2016 and 2022. [..] Between 2016 and 2020, there were 422,000 Irish passport applications from British people.”

  8. R to @EU_Commission: The 2023 Eurobarometer on Citizenship and Democracy, included in the package, shows a majority of citizens are aware of their #EUCitizenship rights and cherish free movement:

🔹89% agree it benefits them personally
🔹83% agree it benefits the economy

  9. @EU_Commission There’s no #EuCitizenship. If there were, then every UK citizen living in the EU at the time of #Brexit would still hold their EU passports! It would have made many things so much easier for them.

  10. I've signed "#EUCitizenship is a Permanent Status" Will you support the campaign too? PLEASE SIGN & SHARE to get to 150K! I feel frustrated, vulnerable, sad & angry since our #EU Citizenship 🇪🇺❤ was illegally taken 7yrs ago!😭🤬 So far it HAS been found illegal 🚫 & we're going to European🇪🇺 Court next!😉

  11. Did you know❓
👉 all citizens of an EU country are automatically EU citizens
👉 EU citizenship is additional to national citizenship and does not replace it

  12. EU naturalisations of British residents are still higher than pre-Brexit levels.

Berlin has naturalised the most Britons over the past decade: precisely 38,533 between 2010 and 2021, with a peak of 13,675 in 2019. France comes second, with 14,723 naturalisations - despite only 163 British-born new French in 2021 – followed by Sweden (13,482 naturalisations) and the Netherlands (8,805).

  13. How a Portuguese citizenship loophole became a door into the EU.

A 2013 law was supposed to make it easier for descendants of expelled Portuguese Jews to obtain citizenship. But its loose rules allowed a lucrative business to emerge, which is now at the heart of a judicial investigation.

  14. @TheEuropeanNetwork @iasen_kostov EU Citizenship has existed since 1992. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European I have it and I suspect you have it too.

Do you mean EU Citizenship without an underlying member state Citizenship? That may take a while (decades?).
