My dudes, what are you talking about? The coast from Newfoundland in the North to the Amazon in the South is controlled by just my empire. There is no chaos and warfare, just well organised subjects with a mighty Jamaica sorting out the Caribbean.

It seems I may have gotten way ahead of history. Also taking out Portuguese, English and French colonisation before they even started.

I mean, I did get it sorted out by now and the rest is mostly mopping up. But it was way harder than expected for a little rebellion in the south. I even had all my vassals on my side for once. #EU5 #GameNarrative

which in itself comes from a tricky set of incentives. I want strong vassals on my borders to defend me, but not so strong that they can rebel. So I occasionally need to get someone else to reduce their strength #EU5 #GameNarrative

It's doubly backstabby as some of my vassals in the region of France are disloyal while being protected on all sides and now are suddenly directly on the front lines #EU5 #GameNarrative

Today I learned that #EU5 has an extremely backstabby mechanic: I told one of my colonies to attack the colony of an ally, the ally joined their colony and I intervened on behalf of my colony and boom: 37 former friends at war.

After Two Hundred Years of the (second) Hundred Year's War, it finally runs out of time after nobody achieved the winning conditions. England controls 131 locations, France has 83 and some upstart Iberian kingdom has control over 106 locations (plus 33 with an ally). The remainder of France has no access to the sea. Their locations are incredibly fragmented making it inefficient to control and defend which is not foreshadowing at all

I'm just playing Spain during the time Columbian Exchange in #EU5 and listening to The Rest Is History episode about the same time and I'm wondering if the spread of smallpox was preventable in some way if they Spanish had behaved a bit more careful. Or was this entirely unpreventable as soon as contact was established?

So I decided to look elsewhere, leave France alone, etc.

Al Habat could do with some expansion into Fez, so new adventure in Morocco (testing our new ally, the Two Siciies).

So France sees Spain distracted with all armies in North Africa, England in Civil War, so they attacked. Well, fast forward, France lost another 19 locations.

And after a short truce, this time no one distracted? What does France do? Attack again. Well 7th phase of 100y war, here we go. #EU5 #GameNarrative

Hmm, I made a boo boo with cultural acceptance and now the Aragonese and Catalan don't like me that much any more, which hits the Accepted Cultures capacity. The Problem is that I'm the dominant country for Aragonese myself and there doesn't seem to be a mechanic for asking myself. The dominant country for Catalan is the Duchy of Athens of all places.
