Il #15gennaio 1914 nasceva #EttyHillesum, scrittrice olandese di origine ebrea, vittima della #Shoah, morta ad Auschwitz a soli 29 anni.

@LeilahLilienruh #EttyHillesum ist für mich jemand, der zeigt das es Wege gibt, wo niemand mehr sie vermutet. In tödlichem Umfeld noch einen aufrechten Gang bewahren. Es geht. Es hat nur einen Preis, den glaube ich nur wenige zahlen können oder wollen. Es ist ein zäher Ringkampf mit sich selbst, in einer Härte und Unnachgiebigkeit, die jeden coolen Spruch ad absurdum führt.

In her #diary Etty Hillesum, working in the Westerbork transit camp processing new arrivals, recounted the day #StEdithStein & her sister Rosa Stein arrived at #Westerbork with the other #Catholic #Jews. In another fragment she mentions meeting among them 2 sisters from a talented #Breslau family 'with stars on their habits'. Rosa Stein wore a habit as a lay #Carmelite

#EttyHillesum perished at #Auschwitz #OnThisDate 30 November 1943.
