Un excellent J-RPG qui est aussi une sorte de distillation du style Atlus : une structure et un découpage du temps à la #Persona, une histoire pleine de parallèles avec les intrigues des #ShinMegamiTensei (Louis = Lucifer...), un hommage appuyé à #EtrianOdyssey, une classe appelée #DevilSummoner...

first day back at work after two weeks off, kinda depressing 😥 got home to find my Etrian Odyssey II & III soundtracks had been delivered, plus the Metaphor ReFantazio issue of Famitsu! cheered me up a lot! 😆

Lately I'm playing #EtrianOdyssey for the first time (I never had a DS). I'm most of the way through it.
It's alright. It's decently fun, but has a lot of flaws, and doesn't take its dungeon design much further than plain empty corridors. I have the Origins trilogy, so we'll see how the next two compare.

Reached the third stratum in #EtrianOdyssey5! The second didn't give me much trouble and I could save up skill points until thbe boss, where I could "stop holding back." Now I'm gonna put the game away for a bit and play something else for the time being.

Trying out the first Etrian Odyssey game (the DS version) and as my first exposure to the series, it's pretty neat! Doing a grid-based first person dungeon crawler where the bottom screen on the DS is used for drawing a grid map yourself is a genuinely neat idea, surprisingly fun, and keeps me from getting my hopeless at navigation self lost. :ac_joy:
That said... wow the mechanics are intimidating. Hope I'm not making any build errors... :ac_shyness: Combat's a bit brutal, but I've played Wizardry I, this is nice by comparison. :ac_sighing:
Neatest character sprite option is this alchemist lady, and not just because it looks like she has a duel disk. :P

Started a new #EtrianOdyssey5 file and just made it to the second stratum. My guild consists of a Masurao, Pugilist and Dragoon backed by a Necromancer and Botanist.

Watched the first half of that live show yesterday (it's very good!) so today I'm listening to the original #EtrianOdyssey DS soundtrack, which is one of my all time favourites. So atmospheric
Disc 1 has the DS soundtrack, while Disc 2 has the PC-88 version (the computer Yuzo Koshiro used to compose the music)

I am loving #EtrianOdyssey on my #SteamDeck! I’ve fully mapped down to level three of the dungeon, and most of four. I’ve also been to level five, but there’s some scary stuff down there.
The only issue I’ve had is that drawing maps with my finger on the touch screen can be hit or miss. This was definitely meant to be played with a stylus.
