#Stolo aka #Staulo, #Stalo or #Stahlo & commonly referred to in #ethnographic literature as #FraserRiverIndians or #LowerFraserSalish, are a group of First Nations peoples inhabiting the #FraserValley & lower #FraserCanyon of #BritishColumbia, #Canada, part of the grouping of #CoastSalish nations. Stó꞉lō is the #Halqemeylem word for "river", so the Stó꞉lō are the #RiverPeople.

I’ll just add that those psychologists, anthropologists, and sociologists went to work for the marketing people because there were not enough jobs in academia, after the restructuring trend in universities that started in the 1990s. Highly trained PhD social scientists deployed #ethnographic and other #methodologies to #research user experience. Now it is just called #UX research and it doesn’t occur to anyone where the methodologies came from.
