This morning I made sure that my retirement account is free of SpaceX stock. After looking through the holdings of the different ETFs, it is all clear! So I will not be contributing to this madness.
The search did turn up something else. Amazon had been added to a mutual fund that I am invested in, so I will be selling my investment in that fund.

I know this is not really a Mastodon topic but would anyone recommend an "investment platform" that only invests in ecologically-friendly / ethical companies?
For example #Nutmeg (now part of JP Morgan) has a "socially-responsible investing" pot but it funds companies like Microsoft, Apple and Tesla 🙃

Has anyone (especially academics) seen something like a positive/negative screening tool for research projects and partnerships?
I’m looking for something that goes to systemic impacts, probably analogous to responsible investment screening tools. The idea would be to surface and enable rich discussions about systemic impacts of partnering with, for example, fossil fuel or defence industry orgs in academic research projects.
Disclosure: this is me trying to align my personal and professional lives, and to have a structured way to work through decisions about research partners, projects, and funding sources in a similar way as happens for my superannuation investments.

#Investing in these times is a bit of a minefield - both economically and morally.
It's a balance between applying value fundamentals and avoiding exploitative/opportunistic capitalism. I see it as putting money behind the industries that add value to our rebuilding/ restructuring, while ignoring 'opportunities' to benefit from those screwing over the victims and 'cornered' parts of society.
