About 40 percent of American adults said in a 2022 poll that we are living in the 'end times.' For much of the country, it’s an idea that’s almost mundane. The rapture is spliced into their Sunday sermons and enchants their world with a fearsome possibility. I’d hear bad news on television as a kid and think, is this it? Has the time come?
It’s an idea that’s now bouncing around, too, at the highest levels of the U.S. government.
The Trump administration has framed its campaign in Iran as a biblically-prophesied holy war. Paula White-Cain, the head of the White House Faith Office, asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu whether the conflict was a sign of the 'End of Days.'
That’s also the title of a new book by Chris Jennings, a journalist who used to work at The New Yorker. The book looks back at Ruby Ridge, the violent 1990s standoff between federal law enforcement and a survivalist family in Idaho. It also seeks to explain the emergence of apocalyptic rhetoric in the United States, and how it has shaped modern conspiracies like QAnon."

When Trump posts such things on TruthSocial or posts the group prayer rituals with him center stage and the laying of hands, it's because this really is the plan and this really is what Israel has promised him, and he really is dumb enough to believe that's his destiny.

"Recent years have seen the emergence of a second and arguably more powerful “Armageddon Lobby.” It resides in epicenters of power like Silicon Valley and embraces a “secular” vision of humanity’s grand future — though it shares many similarities with traditional religion, including a belief in “God” and the promise of immortality through cryonics. ISIS theology is based off a prophetic narrative of jihad against Rome, enduring a counter-attack, after which End Times™ occur.
ISIS in Moscow makes sense in terms of manifesting the eschaton.

published on 18 January 2012"The #RitesOfEleusis, or the Eleusinian Mysteries, were the secret rituals of the mystery school of #Eleusis and were observed regularly from c. 1600 BCE - 392 CE. Exactly what this mystic ritual was no one knows; but why the ancient Greeks participated in it can be understood by the testimonials of the initiated.
"The Eleusinian Mysteries, held each year at Eleusis, Greece, fourteen miles northwest of Athens, were so important to the Greeks that, until the arrival of the Romans, The Sacred Way (the road from Athens to Eleusis) was the only road, not a goat path, in all of central Greece. The mysteries celebrated the story of Demeter and #Persephone but, as the initiated were sworn to secrecy on pain of death as to the details of the ritual, we do not know what form these rituals took. We do know, though, that those who participated in the mysteries were forever changed for the better and that they no longer feared death.
"The rituals were based on a symbolic reading of the story of Demeter and Persephone and provided initiates with a vision of the afterlife so powerful that it changed the way they saw the world and their place in it. Participants were freed from a fear of death through the recognition that they were immortal souls temporarily in mortal bodies. In the same way that Persephone went down to the land of the dead and returned to that of the living each year, so would every human being die only to live again on another plane of existence or in another body."
