Hintergrund | Arte: S.O.S. Mittelmeer

Das Mittelmeer ist nach der Arktis die Klimaregion der Welt, die sich am zweitschnellsten erwärmt. Von Griechenland bis Marokko, von Spanien bis Ägypten verändern Dürren, Überschwemmungen, Waldbrände, invasive Fischarten, der steigende Meeresspiegel, Landschaften und ganze Ökosysteme – und somit auch die Zukunft von 500 Millionen Menschen in diesem jahrtausendealten Kulturraum.

Das Mittelmeer ist nach der Arktis die Klimaregion der Welt, die sich am zweitschnellsten erwärmt – rund 20 Prozent schneller als der globale Durchschnitt. In der gesamten Region verändert die Klimakrise bereits heute Landschaften, Gewässer und das Leben der Menschen: Dürren, Überschwemmungen, Waldbrände, steigende Meeresspiegel, fortschreitende Wüstenbildung, Wasserknappheit und invasive Fischarten bringen Ökosysteme aus dem Gleichgewicht.
Seit 2023 begleitet das Filmteam von "S.O.S. Mittelmeer" diesen Wandel in sieben Ländern und zeichnet das Bild einer Welt im Wandel – von Griechenland bis Marokko, von Spanien bis Ägypten. Der Dokumentarfilm zeigt, wie lokale Katastrophen Teil einer größeren Krise sind, deren Ursachen und Folgen eng miteinander zusammenhängen – einer Krise, die Gegenwart und Zukunft von 500 Millionen Menschen im Mittelmeerraum betrifft.

Der Film untersucht die tiefer liegenden Ursachen dieser Krise und hinterfragt die umstrittene Vorstellung eines permanenten Wachstums – ein Leitbild, das moderne Gesellschaften geprägt hat und die Natur an ihre Grenzen bringt. Mit eindrucksvollen Bildern, Analysen von Expertinnen und Experten sowie Geschichten von Verlust, Resilienz und gesellschaftlichem Widerstand geht er der Frage nach, ob jetzige Anpassungsstrategien ausreichen und wie sie künftig aussehen könnten.
Vor der eindrucksvollen Kulisse des Mittelmeerraums wird deutlich: Die Klimakrise ist keine ferne Bedrohung, sondern längst Realität – und sie entwickelt sich schneller, als viele angenommen haben.

The train crashed into the cows at KM84.50—KM84.75 between #Bahau Station and #Triang Station in #Bera.

The cows died at the scene. The 336 passengers and 5 crew members on the train managed to escape unhurt.

The train journey from #Gemas, #NegeriSembilan to #Tumpat, #Kelantan resumed after damage #inspection was carried out.

In order to create a comfortable and safe journey for all passengers, Malayan Railways Limited (#KTMB) would like to request the cooperation of passengers to follow these prohibitions when boarding KTMB trains.

This includes #KTMKomuter, #KTMKomuterUtara, and #ETS train services, as well as #KTMIntercity train services such as #DMU, #ERT, #ES, and #ST.

While testing a pull request for #dired-rsync I realised my #ert tests were broken and I never noticed because I can no longer see stuff in travis. It took a bit of trial and error but I've converted it all to #github actions now and got everything running again. I'll see if I can do the same for edit with #emacs tomorrow.
