Currently picked up on Ernest Cline's debut novel "Ready Player One" where I had left it (somewhere around page sixty out of nine-hundred and thirty eight.) So far there's been more depth, and biting socio-economic commentary than was afforded by its Hollywood counterpart, which on first view I found lacking.

Saw #ProjectHailMary having read the book first, and read #ReadyPlayerOne having seen the movie first.

In both cases, well worth watching/reading both if you're into that genre, but I would say you get more from reading PHM before watching the movie.
RPO is varied enough that both are enjoyable trips into the universe.

📖 #ReadyPlayerOne by #ErnestCline
One word. Exciting. Like a game :blobcatlaugh:.
This was probably the fastest I've read a book, I just couldn't put it down. The story is incredibly thrilling, the world interesting and the characters unique.
However, I didn't like the references to 80s and 90s (mostly American) pop culture. I get that it's a selling point for many, but I'm not American, nor did I exist in the 90s :blobcatgiggle2:.
Anyhow, I would happily recommend the book to anyone.
