Ja, Eric Ambler ist der erste Autor aus meiner kleinen Selbsteinführung in den Polit-Thriller des 20. Jahrhunderts, von dem ich mir vorstellen kann, dass ich noch einen weiteren seiner Romane werde lesen wollen. DIE STUNDE DES SPIONS ist sehr ausgebufft erzählt, eindrücklich, lebendig, lustig, spannend und bedrückend, und ich glaube, dieses Buch von 1938 ist auch historisch spannend als Zeitzeugnis des faschistischer werdenden Europas vor dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. Feine Sache.

Und weiter geht's mit dem kleinen privaten Polit-Thriller-Studium: Eric Ambler, 1938.

The October Man (1947) is a British crime film starring John Mills. The main drawcard is that it was produced and written by Eric Ambler. It's a fine psychological suspense thriller with some hints of noir.
