The research, published in the journal Science Translational Medicine, suggests that #EpsteinBarr virus -- which 95% of people acquire at some point in life -- could cause lupus by driving the body to attack its own healthy cells.

It's not that I don't sympathize w/ people who have long covid. I just wonder what's changed. Years ago I suffered from a bout of Epstein Barr virus. It left me w/ muscle aches, chronic fatigue & brain fog if I push myself too hard plus a few other symptoms similar to long covid. My doctor told me it was my own fault for trying to work through it, that I had permanent neurological damage and nothing could be done but to suck it up and live with it. What's different now? #LongCovid #EpsteinBarr
