  1. @byteseu Rubbish trucks were out on this “sacred” day? Not in my suburb. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #Epping3076

  2. This is my backyard tree, a dwarf corymbia (AKA a gum tree). It is the most intense orange colour, the bees love it, the parrots love - nectar - and I completely love it. 🧡 #Melbourne #Epping3076 #BloomScrolling

  3. January is gum-tree-blooming time here. One street tree, buzzing with bees (that aren’t really visible here). #Melbourne #Epping3076 #BloomScrolling #corymbia

  8. It’s been so moist and muggy in Melbourne that some fungi are having another season. Look at these cuties from this morning… #fungi #Epping3076 #FungiFriday #mushrooms #mycology #fungus

  9. With our weather being less and less usual or predictable, my suburban corymbia didn’t flower last year. VERY DISAPPOINTMENT! So I’m thrilled with these buds this summer. Can hardly wait for the immanent blooming of brilliant orange. #Melbourne #Epping3076 #BackyardGarden

  10. Admittedly crappy footage, but these 2 sweet parrots are enjoying a bath, and even accept the intermittent “shower” from the solar-powered fountain. #Epping3076 #Melbourne #BackyardBirds

  11. On my walk this afternoon - yikes! Look, there are signs warning us that snakes live here. And it’s good to see the conservation area is actually, you know, conserving local wildlife. It was just a bit of a surprise. #Epping3076 #Melbourne

  12. Do you know what this is? This is an old New Holland honeyeater nest that I snuggled into a branch joint, and that is now being salvaged by this season’s New Holland honeyeaters for their current nest-building. Sustainable / renewable housing at its finest. #Epping3076 #Melbourne #NativeBirds

  13. Out the side of the house. Who knew the smokebush would become a smoketree? #autumn #SmokeBush #AutumnLeaves #Epping3076

  14. Load of laundry, 2km walk, meal in the slow-cooker, practised the bass, checked emails, dusted and vacuumed my bedroom, finished reading a library book that’s due back tomorrow, watered a few pot plants, will pick up my knitting this evening…is that enough for the day? #Melbourne #Epping3076

  15. @danielbowen This is one reason why I want the Lalor spur line to Wollert to be built. It will get me and people like me off the roads so that those who have no choice can stay on less-congested roads.

BTW, we were told when I bought here in 2008 that that heavy rail line would probably be finished by 2015. Even though the land has been put aside for it, nothing has been planned / approved / started. #Epping3076 #Melbourne #PublicTransport #Whittlesea #FossilFuels #ClimateCrisis #SpringSt

  16. Housemate’s gone for a couple of nights. I LOVE being alone! I already feel like I’ve had a 3-day holiday and he’s only been gone a day. #clouds #horizon #Epping3076

  17. One of my Syrian friends at his citizenship ceremony yesterday. I gave him a small gift of a pack of Vita Weats, a pack of Tim Tams and a small jar of Vegemite and told him that he’s now allowed, nay obliged, to eat these foods. 😁 #Melbourne #Epping3076

  18. The decorative crab apple responding to the recent autumnal weather. It seems to actually glow. #AutumnLeaves #Melbourne #Epping3076

  19. @NessaUndreza I have one in my backyard, same colour. I don’t think mine gets enough sun, though, since it doesn’t flower very often. They smell glorious on a hot day. (And I’m glad you got the name right - I grew up calling them datura.😬) #Epping3076

  20. @joannaholman I use it regularly and I find it helpful for keeping my local area reported. (I’m so demoralised with the amount of rubbish around here that I recently thought about making a post with photos of some of what I walk past daily. So many times I share photos of flowers, stately trees, cute insects, etc. but that’s only some of the story. Snap Send Solve helps, but it’s my fellow citizens who make it necessary.) 🙁 #Epping3076
