  1. I guess you 🫵 are interested in Earth observation and remote sensing, right?
If you are on BlueSky too, why not subscribing to the EO & RS feed? It gives you all posts tagged with #earthobsevation, #earthobs, #eochat and #remotesensing

  2. Do you think you have some knowledge in Earth Observation? Would you like to share it?
#EOpedia is the place you can do so. You can show your expertise and help others to educate themself. eopedia.org

  3. How's it going everyone? If you have 10 minutes to spare this weekend, my co-founder Julia Wagemann and I would be super-grateful if you could share your experiences in keeping up with data & tech via a short survey: forms.gle/fgRy46P233Xb9wAL7

We're taking part in an early stage startup program and are conducting this survey in order to develop a solution and also to use in our final pitch.

    Thanks so much!

  4. New paper! Hope et al. 2024 examines the per-country access of publicly available monitoring web portals like , , & compared with socio-environmental variables to analyze global usage trends over time!🌲🔥🛰️

  6. I spent last week with the UBC IRSS lab (irsslab.forestry.ubc.ca) on their annual retreat learning about their exceptional research and sharing mine. It was a highlight of my summer and an honor to be invited to attend.

✨ I left the retreat exhausted, of course, but also inspired by everyone’s work. I also was reminded of the importance of celebrating each other in science, the UBC IRSS lab is amazing at that! Thank you all for welcoming me into your lab for the week! 😎🛰️🌲

  11. Is anybody here using (or want to use) multi-temporal RGB composites based on #Sentinel-1 products? A new no-code app is in the making and looking for some testers…

  13. Smallholder field delineation based on #earthobservation & #deeplearning is challenged by lack of available training data. We show that pseudo-labels support domain adaptation across geographies & sensor characteristics! Find our pre-print on arxiv: doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2312.08

  15. Check out my chapter "Collaborating in with Scripts and Assets" in the newly published open access book -based with Google Earth Engine! It is useful for folks working together on developing workflows in an organisation or lab group. A tutorial is included!

Congrats to all co-authors of the book!

  16. Woooo! Our open-access Google Earth Engine book has been officially published online today with Springer!

"Cloud-Based Remote Sensing with Google Earth Engine" contains 55 community-led chapters from over a hundred authors... and excitingly was published online in time for ! The book itself was edited by Jeff Cardille, myself, David Saah, and Nicholas Clinton.

  17. Latest Sentinel-2 imagery from extensive #flooding in #Greece reveals the damage, not just on property but also to agricultural land:

  18. One of my favourite EO places on Earth: Yana river in Siberia! Look at this meandering giant. You can observe many geomorphic features here, like depositions, oxbow lakes, scars, cut-offs, etc. You can look into centuries of history here…

  19. First time looking at #CBERS4A WPM data!

Does anyone on #Mastodon have experience working with it? What are the best pre-processing (incl. #cloudmasking) algorithms? For all other #geospatial folks: can you guess which part of #Earth this image represents?

  20. #EarthObservation mission impossible?

Need access to pan-sharpened SPOT 6/7 data across large regions in Sub-Saharan #Africa. Context is land systems / #sustainability #science, strictly non-profit, so budget is limited (surprise!). Any hint to hidden archives, institutional databases, research programs, funding lines, or else is valuable!
