Tonight I hosted a #TasLUG meetup in #Hobart, which is the first meeting we’ve have in over 5 years ( yes pre covid times ). 18 amazing people headed out to enjoy some networking with like minded people, to listen to myself and @kgoetz give some talk summaries from #EO2025, and share some pizza and drinks. It was great to see some younger people (high schoolers) coming along and joining in too. My cup is feeling full tonight.

Leaving Adelaide today, home after #EO2025. Things not in my plans when I arrived a week ago: direct booting #FreeBSD on the QEMU microvm profile.

(don't be fooled, long way to go yet, but finally some progress after hours of exploration and dead-ends).

I feel like this might be relevant to the interests of some of my #EverythingOpen peeps^… 👀

Side note: It’s fascinating to me how (some)† nerds / geeks recapitulate the structures of hierarchy, dominance, & status from which they were often‡ excluded when younger. The reasons that this happens are left as an exercise for the reader.
