  11. Patches for CVE-2026-46243 (CIFSwitch), a local privilege escalation vulnerability in the Linux kernel's CIFS subsystem, have been built for Rocky Linux 8, 9, and 10. Our hot fix security repository has been updated.

  17. Rocky Linux 9.8 is out! here's what's actually in it:

    Security gets a big push: OpenSSH 9.9, post-quantum support in GnuTLS and p11-kit, and automated LUKS volume encryption via Clevis. On the dev side: GCC 15, Rust 1.92, Go 1.26, PostgreSQL 18, and MariaDB 11.8.

    Already running 9.x? sudo dnf -y upgrade handles it.

  18. Rocky Linux 10.2 is out and post-quantum cryptography is the story.

    OpenSSH now supports ML-KEM hybrid key exchange in FIPS mode. libssh adds PQ/T hybrid methods combining ML-KEM with ECDH. Firefox and Thunderbird move to Flatpak delivery. Developer stack: GCC 15.2, Python 3.14, Ruby 4.0, PostgreSQL 18, PHP 8.4.
    Already on 10.x? sudo dnf -y upgrade gets you there.
