2. Following a performance in France, Vivienne was travelling in a truck, containing stage scenery to her next engagement. The driver took a wrong turn and ended up in a minefield hit a mine where the driver was killed instantly. Vivienne was taken to the First aid post by ambulance but sadly did not survive the journey and died in the ambulance on 23rd January 1945 aged 19. She was brought back to a village near Sittard (Ophoven). The next day Vivienne was buried in the village Cemetery, near Sittard (Ophoven).
In 1961 Vivienne’s body was exhumed and buried with full military honours in Sittard Cemetery, Limburg, Netherlands. Vivienne Hole (Fayre) is the only ENSA fatality during WW2.#WW2 #ENSA -

Vivienne Hole daughter of William Ewart Gladstone Hole and Gertude Vida Stadley, was born on 25th March 1925, Plymouth, Devon.
Vivienne was a chorus dancer who specialised in tap and acrobatic dancing. Under the stage name Vivienne Fayre, she toured music halls and theatres doing chorus dancing with Audrey Landreth stage name Audrey Mayne.
At the end of 1944, Vivienne and Audrey enrolled at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in ENSA the Entertainment National Service Association to provide entertainment to the British armed personnel during WW2. #WW2 #ENSA -
