"If You Leave" is a song by the English #electronic band #OrchestralManoeuvresInTheDark (OMD). It was recorded for the #soundtrack to the film #PrettyInPink (1986), in which it is played #prominently during the final scene. Along with 1980's "#EnolaGay", the track has been described as OMD's #signatureSong. A recently leaked list of pages marked for deletion on military websites includes…the #EnolaGay, …the B-29 bomber that nuked Hiroshima.
Oblivion menaces every scrap of #information that doesn’t spark joy in the Oval Office. “It’s gone,” #Trump said of “wokeness,” during his address to Congress, in almost motherly tones. “And we feel so much better for it, don’t we? Don’t we feel better?” But on this front, at least, Trump is facing well-organized resistance.

By now you have all read about what is going on w/ #Trump’s #Defense Dept’s anti-#DEI initiative, in which nefarious policies are birthing hilarious results. Namely, as the Associated Press reported last week, somebody at the #Pentagon produced a database flagging images depicting #diversity, #equity & #inclusion. And some dutiful search-&-replace function suggested that #military websites should jettison images of the #EnolaGay. Because, Enola “Gay.”

Don't say gay in Trump's America — even if you're just referring to the name of a plane. @AssociatedPress reports on how the Defense Department is purging diversity, equity and inclusion content from its website. So far, 26,000 images have been marked for deletion including a photo of the Enola Gay (the plane that dropped an atomic bomb on Japan) and a picture of a group of engineers, one of whom had the last name Gay.
