The match is settled, and with bonus point cherry on top already as well, but Italy have forced their way over for a try, having been whitewashed in the equivalent fixture last year. England 26 Italy 5.

England in total command - they have just scored their third try to go 19-0 up with a kick to come. Italy have posed no threat whatsoever so far. The try has been disallowed on the ground that Galligan did not have control of the ball. However the replay shows an earlier infraction by Italy resulting in a penalty try instead. England 21 Italy 0.

Scrappy lineout, ball is back and forth, England steal and diagonally slice through Italy's lines to definitively end this match with a no-nonsense try.
Fin finally misses one and it's 47-24 - England still in contention for the tournament at this point. It's France's title to lose, so we will see what next week brings. If nothing else, we have WALvENG and a last gasp chance for Wales to show some cohesion and get a win on the board.

Well, it's been a stuttering, sputtering, stilted set of play for the past ten minutes. Still, room for Italy to get a point on the table, I'm sure they can beat Wales next week but it'd be nice to have the bonus point in hand.

Wow, very entertaining first half in this match, 38 points scored in 40 minutes, 5 tries, plenty to ponder about what the second half will bring.
My gut tells me England have the power, the execution, the physical fitness over Italy, but Italy looks creative and hungry, so I give Italy a small chance of finding a way to hold this off and get the win.

'37 Not sure how I feel about this Italian defense. They've managed to get a few clutch turnovers, but it's slipped a few times down the left wing and blitz defense couldn't stop the last english try.
But on the other hand, there are four points in it. This is nothing like the systematic demolition by France.

Would have been lovely to see an even score at the half, but Italy's response is a penalty kick for 3, so it's incredibly close with just a couple minutes remaining in the half.
