Beginning historical research on a little book I am co-authoring called “Theory of the Battery” and this book is revelatory in terms of the interrelation of the material development of energy & the various forms of Enlightenment thought circulating in the late 18th/early 19th centuries. #energyhumanities #environmentalhumanities

I guess it’s #introduction time: I’m an English prof at Ohio State. I write & research in the areas of #environmentalhumanities, #energyhumanities & #literarystudies. My first home was #modernism & I wrote a book called The Extinct Scene: Late Modernism & Everyday Life (Columbia UP 2016). I am working on a book called Unnatural Attachments: Aesthetic Education & Ecological Crisis. I edit the Energy & Environment forum for Modernism/Modernity’s Print + platform (pitch me!). Hi All! I'm an English professor at UC Davis who works on 19th-c and early-20th-c literature of the British Empire. This year I'm on sabbatical & on a visiting appt at the University of Granada, Spain. I'm working on my Spanish & am eager to meet new colleagues in Europe. Hi all. I’m Kent Linthicum. I study and teach the #environmentalhumanities , #energyhumanities , and 18th/19th century #literature. My focus right now is on the relationship between coal and slavery in the long nineteenth century. I’m working on finishing my monograph on the topic right now.
