I’ve snazzed up the #PowerDashboard for the #SolarPanels and #Batteries on #HomeAssistant There is actually some duplication but I can see everything I need on one page now. The built-in #EnergyDashboard is useful for cummulative energy through the day. (I reduced the page font and images to get all the graphs and data onto one screenshot.)

Ich mag sehr dass #HomeAssistant in der neusten Version auch die Einrzelverbräuche ins Verhältnis zum Gesamt-#Stromverbrauch setzt.

@khenderick @nohn I agree with that. I was mostly trying to holistically address responses to my original post. 🙂

I think that buying 100% renewable electricity (through available methods) and understanding CO2 intensity of what our actual supply is are both useful as sensors/inputs to #HomeAssistant and the #EnergyDashboard. They can help us both account for and alter our behaviors.

@khenderick @nohn Also agree that the energy on the net isn’t 100% green. However, in my case, with my state’s energy choice program, I’m at least putting our money as directly as possible towards the purchase/support of #renewableenergy production (#RECs / #SRECs) on a kWh-per-kWh basis.

Support for this in the #HomeAssistant #EnergyDashboard could help drive adoption in places where this kind of energy choice exists.

Conservation is a separate — but very much related — issue.

@nohn Hard disagree. I can either buy electricity via my local utility and accept their energy production mix, or I can purchase the same electricity through a provider that is itself purchasing renewable energy certificates (RECs) on the market. Yes, that is an offset. One of those two ways supports 100% renewable energy to cover our usage. Ideal? No. Practical? Yes.

It’s also a signal to my utility/PUC.

#HomeAssistant #EnergyDashboard should account for purchase of #RECs somehow.

Is there a way to tell the #HomeAssistant #EnergyDashboard that I’m using 100% #renewablepower — such as through the kind of power choice options some US states have — rather the default mix provided by the #localutility? I haven’t figured out a way.

Does anyone know how to pull out the cost from the @[email protected] energy dashboard? I want to add to one of my own dashboards.
