Nevertheless, I believe Bob Kanigher's classic "Enemy Ace" chronicles hold up better than just about any other mainline DC material from any era, even now...excluding content related to Vertigo or other offshoot imprints.
Written in the first person, Mr. Kanigher's work is an extended character study of a fictional World War I pilot named Hans von Hammer. As the titular enemy ace, he proves himself to be, in my opinion, the best of all traditional "DC Universe" characters (er, a backhanded compliment? it's largely because this IP hasn't been over-exposed/rebooted/retconned, or otherwise badly fractured across decades).

That one list paired these two was very funny but also very cute: two strangers in a strange land, and I do like friendos of the grumpy/sunshine kind!
As a pumpkin spice hater though, I thought it apt to have the both of them drink it. Ishtar suggested it--and Hans...maybe likes it?! What is this witchery of flavor of the modern age?!

September Twelve's "with the title "subdivisions"
...Yeah, I had no idea for this one either. Only thing I've heard subdivisions in is in a military context, so that's how I drew this one. Hans thinking he's being very helpful with his planning for S.O.N.G--except some don't think so, it seems! :annoyingdog:
I added Miku because I had the funny idea of Hans trusting Hibiki so much that he thinks she can take enemies all by herself. (I mean, she can, but you know, there's a limit?!)
I couldn't fit it into this idea--and to be fair, this would only happen after a few months in this scenario--but I came up with short nicknames for some of the girls that Hans would use :blobFingerGuns: He'd call them "valkyries" (which is slight in-joke haha) the way he'd call his men "my fledglings" (yes, you read that right), but Shirabe and Kirika would be "little bunny" and "little witch", for example.

Hullo! I am NAAN and while I usually work as a comicker, I also take the time to archive or ramble about things I find interesting to share! I try to work within my financial limits, so anything archived is just mainly tech-related like a cassette filled with interviews or music that's never been in HQ online! (These are very specific examples for reasons.)

My primary fansite right now is one for Hans von Hammer, better known as #EnemyAce: https://hollenreiter.neocities.org A (justifiably) depressed and brooding WWI ace pilot who only likes talking to a wolf? Sign me up?!
I dabble in other parts of #DCComics fandom, mainly the #TangentComics publishing line. Other fandoms I tend to play in include #Macross, #AhMyGoddess / #OhMyGoddess , #KishinCorps, #TenchiMuyo and the #MagicalGirls genre. I've also posted stuff about #LimbusCompany but I don't talk about it much on here in comparison to the others.
Most of my fandom experience is done "alone," as I always tended to do fandom alone while growing up. (I got on the internet late too.) But I'm active in some of the fandoms above through Discord at times. I'm mainly a lurker but I like seeing what people are into (or seeing if they know the thing :eyes: )
I'm into #linguistics, #comics #history and #design, though you won't see much of those on here, given this is my fandom account. ( boop @naan )
I'm also Puerto Rican straight from the island (though living in the US for (checks notes), wow, 18 yrs!! And by next week I will no longer be in my mid 30s. Oh nooo. I try to work within my financial limits, so anything archived is just mainly tech-related like a cassette filled with interviews or music that's never been in HQ online! (These are very specific examples for reasons.)

Other fandoms I tend to play in include #Macross, #AhMyGoddess / #OhMyGoddess , #KishinCorps, #TenchiMuyo and the #MagicalGirls genre. I've also posted stuff about #LimbusCompany but I don't talk about it much on here in comparison to the others.
