Whelp, my Juicebox EV charging station has been cut loose. No more software or hardware support for US customers.
Juicebox residential charging stations were incredibly popular in the US. They were manufactured by eMotorWerks (a California company) starting back in 2013. eMotorWerks were acquired by Enel in 2022 and it has been a slow but steady slide into #enshitification since then.
Crap.

After the fiasco with the #EnelXWay #JuiceBox, which is now after a way too long discussion back with them, we now have the #WallBox installed which is working like a charm right out of the gate, connects to my #HomeAssistant with a few clicks, and is also based on a #raspberrypi :)

It is unfortunate that our local government and energy provider chose #EnelX to partner with for #EV charging infrastructure. The #EnelXWay products and apps are terrible and their customer service is worse and it’s going to be a poor experience to often first time EV owners. But as much as I want to advocate for #ElectricVehicles EnelX seems like it is designed by the fossil fuel industry to make the EV experience as #painful as possible.
