Day 8 of #blocktober, wanted to switch things up a bit so I did a #monstera that we recently repotted into some of my fresh bokashi soil.
I decided to really accept the blocky, minecraft-style aesthetic that I see a lot of blockbench models take on. I also tries stepping away from the flat colours that have been permeating a lot of my models. It's an interesting challenge from a pixel art background - as adding texture can rely on a lot of colours, but generally with #pixelart you try to limit your palette. I haven't made a decision about what I prefer just yet, it's definitely nice to add detail, though I'm not especially tied to making my assets look like they belong in minecraft.
