The US came into existence after a revolt against British rule and the implementation of rules based upon decisions made in another land, which were not evenly applied and definitely not to the benefit of all. The US has now replaced the British Empire as a major power and abuses power in exactly the same way. We only have to look at the history books to see what happens next.

There's this scene that lives rent-free in my head, with a character in the show The Diplomat saying "i still believe in international rules-based order". It's killing me lol. And it shows exactly the point of their jobs: cover-ups. Politely excusing horrible war crimes.
This is not just Trump. It's a long history of the US and other countries doing what they want, because who is going to stop them?
Just like West Wing, The Diplomat is a fantasy for liberals, and even then they can't make themselves look good.
Dozens of assassinations, kidnappings, regime changes, support for violent extreme-right groups... par for the course for the US. This won't stop until the US collapses.

A tricky political question. After certain ritual performed by Kremlin last year, according to russian law, cities of #Kherson and #Zaporizhzhia became a part of russian empire. And this part is occupied by Ukraine. I think there is no way for russian horde in any future to take control over this cities. Same time russian Constitution requires from Kremlin to keep territorial integrity of empire, so there could be 2 main options - edit Constitution and "give away" part of russia to Ukraine or never sign a peace treaty.
Second option means that russia will slowly decay under sanctions until the #EndOfEmpire. Decolonization in exchange for Bush legs ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_legs ), part II.
First option is more interesting. By default russians are terrified by the idea that they could loose their oil-rich colonies, if being asked why they invaded Ukraine any russian (including "good" one) will say that West want to take control over colonial oilfields ( to destroy spiritual mother russia in Dostoevsky language) and Kremlin acts to prevent it. And changing Constitution in a way which allows imperial territories to go away will be a green light for russian resource colonies, such as #Tatarstan (which is a major supplier of "russian" oil) or #Dagestan, to secede. The next day after such change, #Girkin will capture Kremlin and hang Putin on the wall
So the question is, is there any way around this deadlock for russians to preserve their empire?
