  1. Yesterday, I wrote for probably eight hours and happily typed two words I'm fond of: THE END. The only thing is, the middle has an entire sequence yet to be written. Sometimes I can't wait to write the ending of my novel. It's exciting, so I do it before writing the interior. Does anybody else do that? I'm 80% there. Yay! #writing #writer #writingCommunity #writersofMastodon #writersLife #writersCoffeeClub #author #authors #indieAuthor #authorLife #books #bookstodon #bookLovers #book #writtenWorks #written #feelingit #endings #fiction #storytelling #story #eyes #image #images #teaser #scribesAndMakers #mastodon

  6. How to Create a Consistent Story Tone (And Why It Matters)

Tone tells audiences how to experience the events unfolding on the page. As such, you have to set your story’s tone right from the beginning. Is […]

  11. A quotation from Alan Watts

The meaning and purpose of dancing is the dance. Like music, also, it is fulfilled in each moment of the course. You do not play a sonata in order to reach the final chord, and if the meaning of things were simply in ends, composers would write nothing but finales.

Alan Watts (1915-1973) Anglo-American philosopher, writer
The Wisdom of Insecurity, ch. 7 “The Transformation of Life” (1951)

  16. A quotation from Anaïs Nin

Love never dies of a natural death. It dies because we don’t know how to replenish its source, it dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illnesses and wounds, it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings, but never of natural death.

Anaïs Nin (1903-1977) Catalan-Cuban-French author, diarist
    The Four-Chambered Heart (1959)

  19. It’s that time again - #lovelydeadcrap season.

I have a strong familiarity with death and its unfolding, especially in humans, and a kinship with death and dead things, all in the most holy, positive and beautiful sense…

“Death is our friend precisely because it brings us into absolute and passionate presence with all that is here.” — Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet (1929)

  20. How I Think The Simpsons Will End

It’s hard to imagine a world without The Simpsons. For decades, this animated yellow family from Springfield has been part of the cultural bloodstream, weaving itself into our collective consciousness. It’s more than just a show — it’s a time capsule of changing eras, a satire of American life, and, somehow, a story that keeps going. But one day, inevitably, it will have to end. And when that happens, I don’t think it’ll be some wild apocalypse, or some weird “it was all a […]

  25. Ten of Swords: What Does The Ten of Swords Mean?

When the Ten of Swords appears in a Tarot reading, it’s time to confront endings, betrayal, and the need for release. The Ten of Swords is a card of painful conclusions, betrayal, and the inevitability of change. Depicted as a figure lying face down with ten swords in their back, often under a dark sky with a glimmer of light on the horizon, this card represents… tarotsway.com/2025/04/12/ten-o #TarotReading #TenOfSwords #TarotCards #Betrayal #Endings

  28. This was inspired by seeing the cat take over the dog's bed last night. The dog came in, took one look and decided the couch looked comfier anyway (and he figured he wouldn't get in trouble because how could he possible get on his bed with such a terrifying creature taking over basically the entire thing :D

I'm also trying to get back into writing creatively a bit more, so hopefully I'll post some more like this in 2025!
