It's one of those sci-fi or fantasy based films, in which a kid or younger person is cast as a hero or cohort, that just appeals to me, much like:

None of which are great movies from a film making POV but are movies that I find very entertaining nonetheless.

One #coping behaviour and a trap which I fell into for my #ADHD is trying to do one thing to not come back to things at all again. I got too influenced by the #endersgame movie. The #programmer meme - waste 1 hour trying to automate instead of spending 10 minutes to do a menial task - became my life. Some things don't scale but we still need to do it, atleast for the time being. Suffered a lot of #anxiety in this loop.

Der #Film wurde ja immer irgendwie verrissen. Evtl. hätten sie eine Serie draus machen sollen. Das Buch hingegen geht doch noch etwas tiefer in die Charaktere und auch die Ausbildung wird viel toller beschrieben. Absoluter #Lesetipp.

Trotzdem ist Ender's Game in meiner Top5 der Sci-Fi Filme der letzten 10 Jahre. Aber ich mag auch "The Tripods" (Die dreibeinigen Monster). ;-)

When I started Ender's Game Alive I thought it was going to be an audio drama but instead it's a lot like Ender's Shadow; a retelling of the story from the teachers point of view.

I recommend this one for sure.

During the holiday break I devoured the Speaker for the dead #audiobook. This #book is one of the "Sequels" in the #EndersGame book series.

It is not a fast-paced action packed book like it's predecessor. but rather a #enderverse themed story exploring the Speaker role of Ender Wiggins.

Multiple threads are fully explored in this book, but I primairly loved the storyline around of actually getting to know someone, their flaws, strengths, history and using empathy to know the whole truth.

A few months ago a friend of mine encouraged me to try an #audiobook ... #ReadyPlayerOne , and since then I've been hooked.

I am not a book reader, as I find the practice uncomfortable and am unable to maintain concentratation. With the audio format, I've devoured several books and have especially enjoyed ones with a #distopian or a #scifi twist.

Said friend also has a great taste and feeds me awesome recommendations!
