The new version of Rucio that I just released requires you to delete the rucio.db database. It’s a necessary evil for the greater good, since this version completely overhauls the generation of BLAKE3 hashes to make it more efficient and reduce resource consumption. Keep in mind that deleting the database does not remove your IDs, so you won’t lose your ed2k credits.

Qué recuerdos, hace mil años que no usaba una app de descargas p2p sin torrents... siento que vivo en el 2005 otra vez 😆
Acabo de actualizarlo en Linux, recargué la lista de servidores, conectó, encuentra cosas, y descarga... qué locura, es una máquina del tiempo.

1. You can download a static binary from the releases page. Then just run ruciod, open a browser at 127.0.0.1:3003, and you'll see the interface.
2. The eMule Kad network is optional. You can disable it if you want. It is enabled by default because the Rucio network currently has few users, and disabling the eMule network by default would be a mistake (since you wouldn't have anything to download).

Ando ahora descargando la serie completa "Modern Family". Me lo ha pedido cierta persona, porque la quiere guardar para volver a verla por segunda vez.
La primera vez la vio conmigo, hará 10 años fácilmente.
Recuerdo que me gustaba hasta cierto punto, porque ese olor a burguesismo me echaba para atrás.
El caso es que en Emule está al completo, salvo la temporada 2 y 3 que estoy tirando de torrent.
En su momento iba descargando los episodios de mejortorrent y los veíamos en la Wii con una app de visualización de vídeos 😂

Damit meine Kids keinen Unfug im Netz treiben, suche ich Methoden, die ich unterbinden muss, damit sie sich nicht Filme über Torrents oder sonstige Wege downloaden. Am Ende finden sie noch eine Möglichkeit, sich Filme von Netflix und Co herunterzuladen. Dem möchte ich zuvorkommen und unseren Familienvertrag um genaue Anweisungen erweitern, die den Kids verboten sind. Bitte Boosten :)

Abrir puertos para tener la ID Alta es clave.
Cuando comparto archivos, siempre tengo 3 - 4 ficheros subiendo, veo que muchos usuarios tienen id baja. Y luego se quejarán de que va lento...
En Emule suelo encontrar lo que busco. Si no, lo busco en torrent y lo comparto en Emule. Y la gente se lo descarga!

Y sigue en forma. Ahí descargo todo lo que se me antoja. Tambien subo contenido propio y la gente se lo descarga.

Ich vermisse ein wenig den alten Esel. Gibt es einen Fork von aMule für Linux, der mit IPv6 funktioniert? Ich habe keine "echte" IPv4-Adresse mehr, nur noch IPv6.
Was den Esel stark gemacht hat, war der Verzicht auf zentrale Strukturen, besonders mit dem Aufkommen von ed2k/Kad, wo man überhaupt keinen Server mehr benötigt, und man muß keinen Torrent erstellen, um irgendeine Datei mit dem Rest der Welt zu teilen, sondern einfach nur den Ordner, wo die Datei liegt, freigeben. Über den Esel habe ich allerlei obskuren und kaum bekannten Kram aus aller Welt gefunden, bizarre ungarische Komödien mit Untertiteln und sowas. -

Ha configurado port forwarding en su router, configurado a la dirección estática de su portátil, y tiene los puertos permitidos en el firewall de Windows y aun así no conecta.
El router es un ZTE HP3600 de Digi, el portátil es un MSI GF63 THIN con Windows 10, y el cliente es eMule 0.70.b.
¿Alguna idea? ¿Algo más que tenga que preguntarle para el diagnóstico?

I love that it's based on #DHT of old https://docs.ipfs.tech/concepts/dht/#kademlia though in practice mediated by a central indexer (IPNI) https://docs.ipfs.tech/concepts/ipni/ .
But what made DHT useful in #eMule was the search by filename or other human-readable metadata, so of course they removed all of that!?

J'étais la seule à croire qu'Indochine chantait les louanges d'un "Canard Ebay" ?
Petite j'adorais cette chanson (spoiler : y avait peut-être une raison 😅), mais je ne comprenais vraiment pas le rapport entre un canard acheté sur Ebay et des filles qui s'embrassent et vivent en secret dans une baie cachée.
Avec le temps j'ai fini par comprendre que ce n'était pas tant ce canard Ebay qui m'attirait tant dans la chanson.
Et un peu plus tard à -enfin- lire le vrai titre en le téléchargeant sur Emule (petit âne parti trop tôt).Bref, j'écoute Indochine (une envie annuelle soudaine, vraiment, ne me jugez pas) et j'ai repensé à ce canard.
