#Equinor, the developer behind #EmpireWind, recently said that those delays & other regulatory changes affecting US offshore #wind projects had cost the company nearly $1B.

At the same time as it thwarts the wind industry, the #Trump admin has taken several steps to boost #oil & #gas as well as #coal, the dirtiest & most expensive #FossilFuel when it comes to burning it for #electricity.

#US #Interior secretary orders #offshorewind project shut down
The order from US Secretary of the Interior #DougBurgum, who alleged that the project was rushed through review. But #Burgum's move comes the same week a report from the Government Accountability Office, done in response to the executive order, found only minor issues with the existing permitting process.
The #Equnior project, termed #EmpireWind, is a key part of #NewYork's plans to meet its #climate goals.
