Why I am doing Blaugust (and my personal goal)
What made you decide to do Blaugust this year, and what are your personal goals?
As I already mentioned, there have been some really big emotional issues in the past few months caused by several factors. I have been in a constant state of emotional exhaustion for about 10 months.
Even before that with us having a little child, moving, working… my blog has become quieter and quieter. At some point, I even wondered whether I should just let the blog be. Maybe I am past the time when writing was fun? But I don’t think that’s it.
So I decided to give it one more go. If I don’t find it fun again, then yes, it probably is time to stop writing this blog. Another reason to participate is the exact same reason that made me start blogging so many years ago: writing in English. While I am still good at understanding English (in writing and when watching films or series), my active vocabulary is shrinking fast. I notice that I sometimes struggle to find the right words when writing, and I don’t like that at all!
My goal for this month is simple: 5 posts. That’s it.
I want to get to 5 posts, and everything above is a bonus. Coming out of an emotional burnout, I will not commit myself to doing anything that ends up feeling stressful. I want it to be fun and nothing else. And so far, it is. But I haven’t really written anything about games yet.
I do still play games, though! That is one thing that never stopped. It’s just that the games I do like to play nowadays have become a lot more wholesome. But that is another topic for another blog post.
