  1. The New Colossus by #EmmaLazarus.

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
    With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

  2. @bcsmagazine Ah, yes; the #free who live in #fear of #oppression aren't truly free. Emma Lazarus said, "Until we are all free, we are none of us free." Any oppressor is also not free, for ipso facto they must oppress. So, Mika must not go back. But therein lies a limitation to her freedom.

    ...refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

If it weren't so tragic, I'd currently be choking on my hysterical laughter, figuratively speaking.

  4. @SteveBologna. "Full" -- what an weird, absurd word to use. It's not like the nation is a #CrackerBarrel where we've eaten too much (wait, maybe that analogy holds) and we've eaten too much of whatever and we can't eat any more.

#LindseyGraham, have you looked at the #StatueOfLiberty recently or read the #EmmaLazarus poem? Here's a snippet:
