  2. Oswald Chambers, Baptist evangelist, writes on the Sermon on the Mount. Salvation is a “first mile”, and obedience is a second, both done by Christ in us. Chambers sees the difficult requirements of the SotM as a required passivity were Christ completes His work in us. Our right is to not insist on our rights.

Conservatives meanwhile tell oppressed they have no rights, yet every slight against them is persecution.

How can you not hurt the Son of God?

  3. Frank Gunsaulus, Congregationalist, finds human brotherhood in Paul’s, “Who is offended and I burn not?” (2Cor 11:29). Earlier in the text, he had referred to slavery in Russia. When anyone suffers a stroke, it is felt by every person under heaven.

In current religion, to we put efforts towards imagining reasons to to cut off connections with people?

How can you consider such bonds?

If you were curious about my legal permission to breathe within this un-submerged Earthling solid angle,
    it's that.

If any UK book botherers want to enlighten me, please do.
Thank you for exactly zero legal advice in advance.

I will not be relying on it at all. (And frankly am at non-zero chance of forgetting it soon after.)

It is my understanding I'll maintain the same status but lapsed proof.

It is my experience and expectation that I'll become undocumented, and therefore human scum [sic].

  8. And now, I have to figure out how to make an eVISA account.

The UK Government sent me an email, as it is wont to do.

"If you did not receive this email directly from the Home Office, it may not be possible to create your account or view your eVisa yet.

    Dear Sir/Madam,
We have previously contacted you to take action to create a UKVI account and access your eVisa.

To do this, go to gov.uk/get-access-evisa to get access to your eVisa.

Your biometric residence permit (BRP) will expire on [redacted]. To prove your immigration status after this date you will need to replace your BRP with an eVisa, which is free and easy to do. The expiration of your BRP card does not affect your immigration status.

Your BRP will not be replaced when it expires. You should take action to create a UKVI account and access your eVisa before your BRP expires, so you can continue to prove your immigration status easily.

If you have already completed all of the steps to create your account and access your eVisa, you can ignore this message.
What you need to do now

You need to set up access to your eVisa, which will replace your BRP.

    You will need:

your BRP number (or visa or immigration application number)
your passport (if you do not have a BRP)
access to an email address and phone number
    access to a smartphone

Go to gov.uk/get-access-evisa to get access to your eVisa.
    Got a question?

To watch a video on how to create a UKVI account and access your eVisa go to youtube.com/watch?v=r2LYfUNTiE.

For more information about eVisas and to get help creating your UKVI account, visit: gov.uk/evisa.
Already have an eVisa or another physical document?

Go to gov.uk/evisa for more information on how this change will affect you. Other physical documents include things like a certificate of entitlement of right of abode.
Legal representative, or an immigration application advisor?

If you are a legal representative or advisor and used your email address for client immigration applications, please ignore this message. We will provide more information later this year.
    Stay updated

For the latest eVisa information visit gov.uk/evisa, and sign up for updates. This page will be regularly updated throughout 2024."

I followed the linked process (after checking it wasn't a scam).
I reached a feedback loop so I asked the help desk.
    The adventure clusterfusks on...! :sadness:

  9. "Life in the UK Test , Question 16 of 24: What percentage of the work force are women?
    50%, 40%, 60%, or 30%.
    Incorrect
Women in Britain today make up about half of the workforce. On average, girls leave school with better qualifications than boys. More women than men study at university."

Guess what I answered and they said was correct.

    Did you know?!
The UK Home Office (or maybe the DWP? Idfk) recorded my fingerprints before I could get my Biometric Residence Permit.
No notice that this would happen; my employer told me when they called to explain why they couldn't pay me or offer more shifts.
They didn't already have my fingerprints because I have never intentionally broken a law.
They stopped my employer from giving me any more shifts at uni until I paid £130 I didn't have for the privilege. Got my pay eventually.
There was no fucking choice if I wanted to remain here legally.
And then the BRP share codes became a requirement in years since.
My prospective employer kindly let me know mid-paperwork following successful interview.
    The story continues...! 🏇

  10. Nelly Quinlan Donnnelly was the daughter of Irish emigrant parents, her father a railroad worker. As a young married woman she made herself pretty dustcoats so she'd look and feel good. Her neighbours loved them, so she made more, started selling them and ended up with the huge Nelly Don company. Through the Depression her workers had pensions, life insurance, health benefits, scholarships for their kids… seamwork.com/articles/nelly-do

  11. It's just occurred to me that I've lived in my home in Spain more than any other place in my life (Birmingham UK) second at 16 years. Frankly Spain is a lot, lot better than Birmingham - you can even get half-decent curry and beer here now so…. … #win.
