A few weeks back, I asked for help for a friend of mine down in Australia who is having trouble finding a job after abruptly losing her last one. Some wonderful, generous people on this platform pitched in and ensured that she'd still have a roof over her head while she waits for her unemployment insurance application to kick in.
Good news, she finally has a date! August 6th. Unfortunately, that's a couple of days after her rent is due. Right now, she just needs about $350 USD to make it, and then she'll be covered!

A couple of weeks ago, I asked for help for my friend down in Australia who is having some serious issues finding a job after losing her old one. With the help of several generous people here, she has managed to stay afloat a little longer!
Unfortunately, she's still having issues.
She's been applying for every job in her area--fast food, dog grooming, general IT work--and is struggling to get callbacks despite her pretty wide range of skills. Her situation has us both baffled.
In the meantime, however, she could use some help with her rent and bills so she doesn't lose her home and her animals.
She's been my friend for over a decade. I've seen her prioritize everyone else over herself so many times. She's such a good person and I hate to see her going through this.

I'm 28, and I'm an unemployed and neurodivergent trans woman, and I feel completely incapable of having a job.
I've been living in mainland Portugal (was from the islands) for a little over 4 months now. I still am not able to get any unemployment or disability benefits, as I believe I should. every day is really hard, everything is a huge chore. I'm working on getting diagnosis for my issues, and I'm on a wait-list for a psychiatrist.I literally cannot work, I'm suffering even more lately because I lost my partner and best friend of the past 5+ years, and that means I no longer have a significant other who can help me financially, and I'm feeling really lost and desperate. I'm really really afraid of running out of money. I've only been spending money on food and not much else at all, and it's definitely not going to last me another whole month...
