A few weeks back, I asked for help for a friend of mine down in Australia who is having trouble finding a job after abruptly losing her last one. Some wonderful, generous people on this platform pitched in and ensured that she'd still have a roof over her head while she waits for her unemployment insurance application to kick in.
Good news, she finally has a date! August 6th. Unfortunately, that's a couple of days after her rent is due. Right now, she just needs about $350 USD to make it, and then she'll be covered!
She's truly the kindest person I've ever met. I hate that she's going through this rough patch.

Update on our mutual aid status: Partner's surgery has been rescheduled as of today due to insurance complications with ihs. So at least things are less pressing but we re still fundraising for overdue bills, trying to avoid collection.
