As recipient you are so frantic to stop the harsh klaxon sound that you don't get to read the alert text before it's gone.

Interesting that the #emergencyalert popped up on my phone when I was driving and needed to see the satnav as I was at a junction. Clicked 'OK' to get rid of the alert, did what I had to do, parked up and tried to find the alert to read it, only to find it had vanished into the ether. So, that's it, don't read it immediately and you can't read it at all.

Answering my own question... on Google Pixel, there is a history of emergency alerts.

Settings > Safety and emergency > Emergency alerts > Emergency alerts history

I now have technical questions about the alert, the sound was exactly the same our phones (we have a mix of iPhones and Google Pixels). Is the sound (as in the audio file) on the phone itself? or sent with the alert/signal?

...and the message text itself was in a cancellable dialog/prompt, meaning when I pressed okay, it disappeared. Can I view that again? e.g. what is there was vital information in the message? (mental note, always screengrab in future)
