Since 2010, my journey in the world of blogging has been a deeply enriching and transformative experience. Over the years, I have witnessed significant changes in the blogging landscape, yet its vibrancy and relevance continue to flourish in 2024. The evolution of blogging has brought about new opportunities for personal growth, meaningful connections, and professional development, making it an evergreen platform for self-expression and community engagement.

I blog to explore the topics I’m curious about, to document my experiences, and to share valuable insights with others. My blog serves as a launch pad into subjects that engage my interest, whether exploring new trends, embarking on exciting adventures, or discussing thought-provoking ideas. My aim is to authentically express my thoughts and experiences while providing a space for others to engage with and benefit from the knowledge and wisdom I have acquired.

Blogging is an avenue for personal growth, meaningful connections, and the opportunity to positively impact others.

It’s natural to want to write about ourselves, our likes, loves, and dreams. My takeaways from blogging over the years.

Blogging has the remarkable ability to expand our knowledge and broaden our perspectives. We open ourselves up to learning from others within the vibrant community of bloggers. It becomes a reciprocal exchange of wisdom, fostering continual personal and intellectual growth. It is an exciting dynamic process.

We lead busy lives and there are many competing forces that call upon our most precious resource – time. Dedicating an hour, to what I call the “art of blogging”, is a life-affirming activity. There is a balance between creating and listening. That is, we can effectively contribute to and benefit from the rich diversity of voices within the community. Whether sharing personal stories or exploring new ideas, the act of creation goes hand in hand with a receptive and appreciative audience.

Blogging is a deeply personal journey intertwined with a vibrant community experience. As individuals, we embark on a path of self-discovery, self-expression, and continuous growth. Simultaneously, we contribute to a passionate community of like-minded individuals engaging in an interactive exchange of wisdom. This dual nature of blogging as a personal and communal endeavour underscores its significance as a stage for both individual enrichment and collective involvement.

“Clanmother” launched with a simple sentence on August 21, 2010: Welcome to Clanmother – a backward look forward. These words came from a quote by Søren Kierkegaard, a Danish theologian, philosopher, poet, social critic and prominent figure in the history of existentialist philosophy. While I do not aspire to the heights of this brilliant philosopher, the idea that living forward could only be understood more clearly in retrospect, resonated with me. And so, these words served as the foundation for my blog.

As I approach my fifteen year of blogging, I intend to go back to the beginning to where it all began. I am filled with a sense of nostalgia and anticipation. Today resilience looks like being perfectly OK with the days where I can’t do as much because of this or that a joint or body part or condition being activated. I don’t have to judge that.

Instead I can just take another breath deep in my belly and relax and move onto the next one.
