  1. I'm working on improving the animation system. It won't be anything too fancy yet, but will include things like breathing, eye movements, and, uh... Look at her go! Well, I'll post a short preview video once everything is working as intended again, lol.

  4. I'm currently fixing all the bugs caused by the render pipeline migration and also further polishing the graphics. Notably, the shadow quality has been improved and aquatic stage is brighter now. But most important of all: There now is an useless button that makes duck sounds.

    I also started planning building editor parts for the winners of the art contest. I can already tell you, there are more than 3 winners this time.

  5. Let's gooo! The render pipeline migration is pretty much done and all of the stages are playable again! I even improved some mechanics like the creation viewer (see screenshot) and the decal system.

  6. The tropical valley, will be the first biome to receive a rework. It will be much bigger and sandier. The mountains are higher and have more natural shapes with visible erosion. Still work in progress. Vegetation is disabled at the moment.

  7. I'm working on a new terrain generation prototype for a lot of different creature stage biomes! V 0.5.5 will include at least one reworked and one new biome. New plant editor updates have been pushed back a bit in favor of this.

  8. The stat system has been reworked. Health and damage values are now much higher, making them easier to balance without needing decimals. Furthermore age and skill levels now have proper tooltips, letting you see the exact rewards you get.

  9. Instead of having just a single level, your species can now earn experience in different skills! These grant bonuses like permanent stat increases. Reaching new stages will also unlock more skills.

  10. Blorb has been sent to the new space stage prototype. Here he will construct a space station, the Blorb Station™, which will serve as hub for testing space stage mechanics. Wish him luck, as he ventures where no Blorb has gone before!

  11. Some more progress on the plant editor. You can now create twisted tree trunks. The "cap" of this plant is a work in progress version of one of the first fungus parts.

  12. The material selector is here! It lets you change the material of the individual regions of hut and plant parts. It even lets you change the leaf shape of foliage. Here, I used it to create a bamboo hut.

  13. I made several improvements to mount and camera controls:

    - The mount will now try to land by itself, when you jump off while being in the air.
    - The camera now focuses on the center of the mount, instead of staying on your creature.
    - The camera's zoom and rotation range automatically adjusts, so big mounts don't cover too much of your screen.

  14. Elysian Eclipse now has new fonts! The text is now more stylized and rounded, especially for headings. Small caps have been removed completely to make everything more consistent.

  15. Mounts now have their own ability hotbars! While riding the crabfish, you can let it perform a spin dash, just like in aquatic stage. Its health and energy are shown too while riding.

    The same system will be used when controlling a space ship in the upcoming prototype.

    Also, dismounting has been turned into an ability on the hotbar, so you can trigger it with both the hotkey or the mouse.
