A group of vegans set up a booth at place vauquelin to hand out samples (purportedly) of #Elwood “organic dog-meat” (it was a vegan faux meat).
Then another #vegan group, apparently not in on the joke, showed up to protest the company farming dogs.

The Elwood community has been asking for a safe crossing on Glen Huntly Road for 15 years.
We took the local councillors to look at the crossing in 2018. It would allow kids to safety reach the school grounds out of hours when the crossing supervisors attend, and help all users of the popular canal path.

Many #Elwood streets throughout early #autumn, provide a visual display that only lasts for a few weeks.
Leaves turn colour, most will soon drop in readiness for a cool winter ahead… many plants, shrubs, trees will wind down and hibernate in preparation for #winter, then in readiness for #spring.
But for now, it’s a real pleasure to absorb the beauty of these iconic aussie autumn displays.
It’s food for the soul. Truly is.

A gorgeous #bougainvillea, red in appearance is displayed along a suburban garage wall.
It almost resembles a climber / vine of sorts.
It is so appealing, especially showing off its colours so late in the flowering cycle.
Did you know?
The actual flower of the plant is small and generally white, but each cluster of three flowers is surrounded by three or six bracts.
These bracts with the bright colours, come in pink, magenta, purple, red, orange, white, or yellow (I’ve never seen yellow).
#BougainvilleaGlabra is sometimes called "paper flower" because its bracts are thin and papery.

Just look at this pink flowering #crepemyrtle (got it right this time, folks!) poking over this residential wall in #Elwood #Australia.
It can only be described as breathtaking.
It’s bursting with bloom and colour!
Noticed these come in a variety of colours (shades) and structure. Some are tree-like, others quite shrubby and some present as spear-like structures with long branches splaying upwards (over say, 2.5 metres high ie, 8+ feet) from a central hub, at the root.
They really are a mood lifter and a visual hedonist’s delight.

This #JapaneseMaple is just superb!
It’s living it’s best life in #Elwood #victoria #Australia and it’s a particular favourite of mine, I see it all the time. It makes my heart sing!
This maple’s leaves remain this deep colour of red all year round, although with the past few months of Melbourne rains, it has invigorated this lovely specimen in no uncertain terms.
The summer sun really brings out its vibrancy. I’m in love with it.
