Unsere private Exkursion während der #Intergeo 2025, Frankfurt, ging auf den Großen Feldberg. Der dort stehende Gradmessungspfeiler erinnert an die Europäische Gradmessung 1868. #Pylone #INTERGEO2025
Diese Messung wurde von dem Geodäten Johann Jacob Baeyer (1794-1885) initiiert.
Die Ergebnisse dienten zur genaueren Festlegung der Werte des Erd- #Ellipsoid |s. (Äquatorhalbachse, Polhalbachse, Erdabplattung)
Damals gab es aber sicherlich besseres Wetter und eine bessere Sicht! -

In the movie Ice Age, Manny the Mammoth says he is not fat - just poofy! It is just the fur! I feel the same must be true for bumblebees - they are fluffy, but not really fat! ... and I've finally ended up standing right in that locus for the waiter station across the bar and now the bar staff chitchat is appearing right inside my head.
