The feeling when you're drunk and completely oblivious to the pains of the world.
Written by James Shelton in 1950, and covered by such stars as Eartha Kitt, Helen Merrill, Nina Simone, and Jeff Buckley. More recent performers include Katie Melua, Susan Boyle, and Dave Gahan (!).
Elkie's is the only hit version, and it's not entirely clear why she's performing it while cosplaying as a toilet roll cover.

In a quiet week for new music, this is an excellent choice - not just because it's a good song, but because it's a *long* song.

I saw her a couple of nights ago at The Concorde Room in Eastleigh. She really is phenomenal. Her cover of Prince's Purple Rain was amazing and the fact that she can still deliver songs like Sunshine After the Rain and Fool if You Think it's Over as flawlessly as she did 40 years ago is astonishing. I'm beginning to think she made a pact with Satan at some point! #ElkieBrooks
