He claims this will affect his new job as an #electrician and his recovery - but its not first #DUI charge he's had and stoned workmen are a menace on the roads - although they don't speed and cause big crashes they cause many low speed collisions/scrapes especially when parking or loading/unloading and cost other drivers a lot of money in repairs and raised insurance premiums..

Need a hot water cylinder heater complete, or possibly just the overheat cutout for it, replacing. #Exeter #UK
Heats nicely with up to 1kW solar power, works nicely with 3kW mains power applied for 15 minutes, trips out after 3kW applied for 30 minutes.
The latter is in the early morning, cheap tariff.

I wonder if any of you #electrician types or #SmartHome enthusists might be able to satisfy my curiosity. (A thread, due to char limit) It doesn't need solving, the issue became moot due to other changes, but I'm stumped as what electrical thing it is.
I had 2 light fixtures on 1 switch. One fixture had 2 bulbs, the other just 1. I replaced that switch with a wifi dimmer. The bulbs were dumb dimmable LED.
If I removed the bulbs in the 2 bulb fixture, the dimmer couldn't dim the remaining bulb. -

Now one man is dead, another has fucked up his life big time (had 0 previous convictions, a well paid career as an #electrician and was driving a high end #Mercedes #EV ).
Social media shows offender appears to have a young son, who is probably going to get bullied in subsequent years at school when kids taunt him about "Daddy having been in #jail "

How to get kicked out of the electrician's guild.
On a municipal footbridge with a metal handrail, too. This was not a DIY job, someone got hired and paid to do this.
There's a faint glimmer of hope that the PE is connected through and a working RCD somewhere down the line, but for historical reasons this is often not the case hereabouts.

Amongst the items nicked are specialist test equipment - which is not only pricey but only of use to other electricians - you have to know how to use it!
I think there's a bleaker aspect to this - its likely *other* tradesmen buying the "cheap" stolen tools at car boot sales and maybe even commercial rivals targeting vans of those working "out of area"

I had an electrician come out and replace the light fixture in the small garage where I keep my motorcycle and mower. It cost a hefty sum to have a pro do it, but at least I know the job was done correctly. Sure, I could’ve done it myself for a lot cheaper, but I didn’t want to. Besides, it would’ve taken me hours to figure it all out and get‑’er‑done.
The electrician and his apprentice were in and out more‑ricky‑tic. They swapped my old fluorescent fixture for an LED unit that looks almost identical in size and shape, just a whole different technology under the hood.
You can’t always depend on the outside of something — or the name of something — to tell you what it really is or what it really does. My new light looks like a fluorescent, but it isn’t.
I sometimes think of the Roman dynasties the same way. Many emperors carried the name “Caesar,” starting with Julius Caesar, then Caesar Augustus, then Caesar Romero, and so on down the line.
Okay, you got me — Caesar Romero wasn’t next in line after Augustus. That was Caesar Tiberius. Romero was a Caesar, but only because it was his first name. He was a 20th‑century actor, famous for a lot of roles but especially the Joker on the old ’60s Batman series — not a 1st‑century Roman ruler. I know you knew that, especially if you were around in the ’60s. If not, and your Western Civ history is a little rusty, maybe he sounded like just another Caesar.
