I have just learned a woman on the Maori electoral roll checked her details overnight and found she was registered as living in a place a long way from where she actually lives.
This news caused one of the people I live with to check their status. They have been dropped off the roll entirely which is incredible given she voted in the last election and has not moved premises since. Check your enrolment status, folk! https://enrol. vote.

My council - like many others - uses the comany www.registersecurely.com to manage the updating of the #ElectoralRoll.
When I click on the 'Deny' button in the #Cookies popup, it *redirects me to the Google Homepage.
I assume this is just sloppy coding, but curious if this might be a known #DarkPattern or scam.

"The Electoral Act 1956 (s99(b)) allowed newly-qualified voters to register up until polling day, and that provision seems to go back to 1948 (s10). So our expectation that people ... should be able to register right up to the election, and to vote as a result, goes back over three-quarters of a century, and no-one under the age of one hundred has voted under rules as restrictive as those National is proposing."
