The trial court judge, Indira Talwani, wrote that the legal challenge to the #USPS plan by Democratic-led states & voter rights organizations was likely to succeed. The groups had argued the plan violated the #Constitution’s #SeparationOfPowers, which gives #states & #Congress responsibility over #elections, not the executive.

A federal judge in Boston ruled for the third time on Friday that the #Trump admin’s plans to restrict #MailVoting are likely #illegal & it should be prevented from implementing them ahead of the #midterms.

Judge Indira Talwani had already temporarily blocked the #USPS from moving forward, in a ruling that was set to expire Sept 10. The new order extends that block indefinitely.
